Here we are with another interview from "The Captain's Voice"! The fifth interview is with the first captain to choose Seven Stars, Captain Alberto Batani, who will talk about his experience with Seven Stars.
The ship, built and launched in Australia in 1990 by Lloyds Ship shipyard in Brisbane as Ineke IV, has undergone a rebuilt. The main works involved lengthening the ship's hull and superstructure by cutting off the old stern and inserting a new 9 meter aluminum block. Renamed Cloud Atlas, she has a length ft of mt 46.20 (from the previous 39) and a gross tonnage of 385 Tn (from the previous 320 Tn). The new interior spaces include a large garage with side door and overhead crane, new royal staircase and new automatic bathroom staircase. New fuel boxes were also obtained, increasing the total capacity by 15000 lt. The kitchen was completely redesigned and reequipped, insulated all interior rooms.

The refit of the sailing vessel Free At Last was one of the shipyard's most significant experiences in recent years. The final result is spectacular, as the images in this video clearly show.

In 2021-2022, we completed one of the most significant refits in our history! A magnificent 45-meter Perini Navi: S/Y Serendipity. This refit included a complete overhaul of all systems, rudders, keel, shaft line, and propulsion systems. The engine and generators were overhauled at zero hours. Dismasting and a complete inspection of the sail system were also performed, as well as repainting the entire hull and superstructure. In short... a complete refit, completed to the highest quality standards.

This 1907 vessel has been entrusted to Seven Stars for a complete restoration.The work on the Prince Otman starter, The first step was to strip the paint from the planking and expose the bare wood. In the second phase, a master shipwright was consulted to determine the exact work needed on the wood. As the second step, the engines were removed and will be sent to England for refurbishment. After completing the interventions on the external keel, attention is now focussed on the deck. Following a thorough inspections the significant aging of the deck and the engine room interior made necessary to completely replace the teak, as well as refurbish the beam, and consequently the sleeper and beam bracket.
